The annual Darby Dash will kick off on Wednesday, and Fairbanks runners are looking forward to this primer before starting the post-season meets. According to Coach Mike Van Winkle, “This is a great chance for our runners to develop some speed over a two-mile course. It comes and it goes. I’m expected some good things from our athletes over this distance as their two mile splits have been impressive during the last couple of meets.”
According to sophomore Nicholas Johnson, “I’ve really been looking closely at my horoscope that was presented during the Great Writing Contest, and I have to say that it feels pretty accurate. I’m going to follow the advice of the stars and try to shock the world during the Darby Dash.”
Freshman Riley Jones is just as excited for the Darby Dash. “Following the escapades of the The Great Writing Contest, I’m ready to put down the pen and get back on my feet. The notion of running just two miles is refreshing and I’m hoping for a good time.”
