The Book of Panthers is the written history of the Fairbanks Panthers Cross Country Program. It has been around since 2010 but really began to take shape in 2019. It typically runs two editions annually. The 1st edition is team goals, weekly work outs, meet schedule and the Top 100 all time list. The 2nd edition comes out at the end of the season; it is a recap of the season and again the updated Top 100 all time list.
Bringing The Book of Panthers to a Substack Publication is a big change.
The point and purpose of this digital subscription to The Book of Panthers is:
To be the authors of our own history by writing the stories of our current and past teams.
To be an educational resource for the Fairbanks Cross Country Team and for any and all interested runners.
To engage with the Fairbanks Community, Alumni and the Running Community.
To build a paid subscriber base that can give and support the Fairbanks Panthers Cross Country Program and in return receive our digital newsletter.
The expectation, as authors of The Book of Panthers, is for Fairbanks Cross Country Athletes and Coaches to provide weekly content for our subscribers.
All funds through paid subscriptions will go to the Fairbanks Cross Country Program Booster Fund.
The funds will be used to cover cost such as:
Contractor Timing for our home meet
Travel Expenses
Entry Fees to meets
End of Season Team Banquets and Awards.
Finally, not all content will be pay-walled. Free subscribers will have access to content through out the year. So please share this with family and friends and follow along with Fairbanks Cross Country Program this season.
