The Fairbanks Panthers Middle School Team certainly had a crazy practice at the Bailey Farm the evening of September 15!!! It all started with a quick dash down and back the driveway, which involved us getting some strange looks from the drivers on the road... but oh well! After doing some dynamic stretches, with some help from some of the younger kids, it was time to run! The plan was to do an Indian Run, which involves all the runners in a line and the person at the end of the line is trying to run up to the front, once they get in the front the next runner tries to run to the head of the line and so on. Following the Baileys gator, we dashed around the side of their house, up around the pond, on the driveway, and back down into the field! After running on the road for a short stretch, we took a quick right, ending up in a cornfield. At this point no one was really doing the Indian run…
After running up a short hill, we turned around and had to do the entire thing again backwards. (sigh) Once we got back and had lots of water, we were all ready for the ice cream that was promised! But then, bum bum BAA, we were told “do it again”. And we did. Reluctantly.
After doing the run again, we were ready for ice cream again. And after playing bumper cars/tag with the Bailey’s scooters and trikes, petting Fluff J the Cat, WE FINALLY GOT IT!!! YAY! With multiple flavors, and a choice of a popsicle or ice cream, we had finally devoured the stuff we had been waiting for, for a ENTIRE 2 WEEKS! And then, WE GOT A HAY RIDE!!! Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Bailey for hosting! The practice of September 15, 2022 at the Bailey Farm will certainly be a day to remember.
