The Canal Corridor 100 miler
Race Goals:
A. Complete 100 miler in 30 hours or less
B. Complete at a minimum 50 miles of the CC 100 miler.
Training Goals: Complete 4 Stack Runs to prepare for 100 miler
August 12 & 13, 2022
Work Out: Complete 30miles with in 12 hours
Results Below:
August 27 & 28
Work Out: Complete 40miles in 12hrs
Goal:
25miles on Aug. 27 (Evening Run)
15miles on Aug. 28 (Morning Run)
If this goes well then proceed to the next Stack Run!
September 10 & 11
Work Out: Complete 50 miles in 12hrs
Goal:
30miles on Sept. 10 (Evening Run)
20miles on Sept. 11 (Morning Run)
Race course break down run w/ planed water stations and aid stations.
This work should indicate if I can make it to the 50mile mark.
September 24
Work Out: Complete 40 miles in 12 hours
Goal: Repeat Stack #2 w/ emphasis on race plan.
Morning Work Out - 7am Start 25miles
Evening Work Out - 4pm Start 15miles
October 8 & 9
Canal Corridor 100 - Akron, Ohio
Start Time 7am
Goal: Complete 50miles minimum.
Goal: 100 miles in less than 30 hours.
Race End Time - 1pm Oct. 9th
Moon Shot
I’ve never trained for an Ultra Marathon before. I’m going to give some more incite to my current training level below. I think it will be fun for everyone to track along with my training log and have a look at my training to this point.
Note: These screen shots don’t give total mileage but they do show # of work outs, total time spent and average time spent running.
When I look these screen shots I get very nervous about running a 100 miler. I’ve laid out a baby step approach with stack runs and off ramps at this moon shot attempt. With 1 stack run completed my thought process is that my next stack might as well be 100 miles because if I can’t complete it then this moon shot will be shut down and a new plan established.
