Remember the 300!!!
Panthers accept invite to the Spartan Invitational...Build Summer Goals.
2022 Fairbanks Panthers Cross Country season is adding a new tradition to build summer mileage goals and improve overall fitness. The goal is simple: run a minimum of 300 miles over 14 weeks of summer beginning June 13 and concluding at the Spartan Invitational in East Lansing, Michigan.
“The goal is to build a base of miles that the rest of the fall training can be built off of,” says Coach Van Winkle. “You know the summer is not only the time when you get your weekly mileage base built out, but also you build out those strong team bonds by just running together as a team over the hot summer months. Accepting the invite to the Spartan Invitational is really the perfect opportunity to focus our summer training and mileage towards a specific end goal.”
The Spartan Invitational will take place on Friday, September 16, 2022. It will be the first out of state invitational that the Panther CC team has run in.
“It’s a new season, there’s a new set of goals, so why not have some fun with it. I’m sure the athletes will Remember the 300 miles they ran leading up to The Spartan,” said Coach Van Winkle.
