Girls 1600m: Rachael Hoover
800m: Rachael Hoover 1st Place - New School Record 2:15.13
Girls 100m Dash: 6th place Charley Shope
Last week at the Region 11 Track and Field Championships our Panthers ran in epic fashion. None more amazing than The Great Rachael Hoover as she smashed records and took 1st places. Beyond Rachaels great individual races she passed the baton to the next generation of Fairbanks Track athletes with a 6th place finish in the 4x800 and a stunning 3rd place finish in the the 4x400, just 2 seconds off of the school record. It was a meet that will live on in the stories that are told around the FHS track stadium for generations to come.
Thursday and Friday, May 30-31, will be our last chance to see The Great Rachael Hoover as she competes at the Division 3 OHSAA State Track & Field Competition. Rachael will be competing in the 1600m, 800m and 4x400m races. Along with Rachael will be Charley (Showtime!!) Shope in the 300m Hurdles and the girls 4x400m team of Hoover, Alexis Wojcehowicz, Mollie Thrush, Charley Showtime Shope.
These moments come and go…… Fast! If you have the time, take it in….. Till it’s gone.
Girls will be competing in the Division 3 Prelim Thursday and Finals on Friday.
