Hoover Takes the Pie on the 4th of July!
Fairbanks very own Rachael Hoover took home a pie for her 4th of July effort at the New Albany 4th of July 5k. Hoover won her age group with a time of 19:57. When asked how the pie tasted Rachael replied “I don’t know, I just stare at it…… I want to stay hungry!”
Mile Dash for the Cash!!
19 of the Fairbanks Faithful showed up for the CRC Mile Dash on Saturday. “We had athletes in all of the age groups today” noted Coach Van Winkle, “Our toddler group really shined, Vivi really took her terrible 2 energy and directed it toward a fast 1st race!” “Also from all the times today I was really excited to see Hannah Niehaus with a sneaky good 6:11 mile dash”.
With strong races and a strong contingent the team from Fairbanks tied for 2nd in the High School Challenge netting a 25% pay out of overall prize money. Final cash totals to be sent to FHS CC Boosters were still being tallied at the conclusion of the CRC Mile Dash event. More information will be reported soon.

Coach Van Winkle at the 2008 CRC Mile Dash for the Cash with panther paint a tail + T5 Brooks Racer Road Flats! It was a site to behold.
I took 3rd place overall that day in a PR effort of 4:32.
