The Perfect Crime…..
Samantha Johnson rolled up to the park last Thursday evening for the final open run of the summer in her SUV. She casually parked and began lifting 5 gal buckets full of water and setting them out at the team camp. “Oh what’s the water for? ”someone asked “It’s for a water fight”, replied Samantha.
Samatha and Erika Gingerich have been running a youth running club for the last 6 weeks during Cross Country open runs. The youth have been learning about running, stretching and playing games during their open runs so a water fight made sense. Besides it was hot out!
The high school and middle school athletes took out for their run thinking “I wish we could have a water fight”. Turns out their wish came true as they ran back to the park entrance. The youth runners sprang out of the tree lines soaking them as they went by, on the way into the camp area. It was the perfect crime.
Farm Update
Have you ever been to a hay bagging party that you just can’t draw yourself away from? This is how I spent my final Sunday evening before the official start of the CC season. Meanwhile Vivi has been getting ready by running feed alley laps. She has added in screaming while running and hissing like a cat.
